I have been on at least nine Middle Fork Outfitter pack trips. I was amazed how much effort F.E. Rankin puts into planning each trip so each is a safe, pleasant, very memorable outdoor experience. He has already researched the area years in advance, reading all the literature he can obtain. Prior to getting any required permits and up to the day before the trip departs, he is in contact with the locals, park rangers, or authorities to get the latest information on trail conditions, weather, fire hazards, and other pertinent information.
He has studied each step of the chosen trails and carefully refers to his text notes and maps along the way. The routes are chosen not only for scenic beauty, but with the abilities of the party a top consideration. His extra effort and detailed preparation has made each trip a very enjoyable, educational, and memorable experience.Â
